Vermillion Walleye Tournament – October 6, 2012 – Cancelled because of weather.
Three boats made it to Vermillion with twelve in attendance. The Tournament was called because of 4’ – 6’ waves. Captain Greg Ruggles and Crew stayed out and crewman Bob Shepard submitted the following report: “My regrets that the weather did not allow for a clean end of the season and Captain of Year shoot-out. Captain Greg went out of Huron because that is where the weigh-in was supposed to be according to Jim’s last memo, and that end must have been better protected from the wind because while we had some 6 footers, it was still fishable and we ended up with 11 walleye, but if we hadn’t caught the first 8+ pounder shortly after 9 o’clock, we probably would have pulled line after the Tournament was called, but that gave us some incentive to stay out and at the end of the day, we were glad we did.”
