“Dodger” Captain Bill Dodge (2nd from L) and crew Keith Childs (l), Lincoln McGhee and Larry Gresehover took first place in the Frankfort Salmon Tournament on Aug. 18, 2012. The Dodger crew caught 12 fish for the tournament and came in early because the cooler and live well were full. They weighed five fish for 75 pounds! The nice part about this catch was the amount of sharing that was done on the water to let others know where and how to find fish! These fish were caught at the Herring Hole about four miles south of the harbor in 90’ of water.
The Frankfort Tournament consisted of nine boats and 34 crew and guest. Port Captains Tom Hesch provided an outstanding lunch at the weigh-in with the help of Captain Jerry Hesch and other family members. Co Port Captain supervised the weigh-in process and trained others on how to run a weigh-in and keep score.
