MUCC Kids Camp and Partner Metro West Steelheaders

Metro West Steelheaders involvement with the MUCC Kids Summer Camp is a long one; it is one of the most rewarding relationships the Club has. Each year the club allocates funds to send kids to camp for a week during the summer. In 2009, the Club sponsored fifteen kids for a week of fun and learning in the Michigan outdoors. Four kids were sponsored from the general public selected from entries collected at the three sports/fishing/boat shows in January – March where the Club sponsors a booth.

Over the last 10 years, Metro West and its members have helped over 75 children go to MUCC Kids Camp, including over 15 special kids from Judson Center. The Club is able to fund this wonderful experience for the children by various fund raisers each year. Some of the most popular events: January ‘Comedy for a Cause’ (the Kids) evening, and the ‘Coolers of Cheer” available at the Christmas Party! In addition, our members sponsor additional kids out of the kindness of their hearts to make sure kids participate in this wonderful sport.
