ERIEAU JULY TOURNAMENTS JULY 6 & 7 2018 Report
Saturday Tournament: The weather calmed down a bit overnight to 20 mph winds out of the Northeast at 6 am and were predicted to be 5 mph by 1 pm. All ten boats went out for the tournament with some starting an hour or so after sunup to take advantage of the improving conditions. Most boats stayed in 40’ to 60’ nearer shore while a few ventured out to 70’ to 75’ FOW – 12 to 14 miles out with bigger waves for the trip out and even for t
Walleye There were 186 walleye caught with many more released and 54 fish weighed 141 pounds! Captain John Taylor and crew took 1st place with 6 of 17 fish weighed for an outstanding weight of 33.8 lbs including the two big fish winners! Captain Dave Zawacki and crew came in 2nd place.
Steelhead Results: Steelhead were very hard to find and they were in very deep water out 10 to 14 miles. Only four boats were able to weigh nine steelhead. Captain Larry Tabaka had the big steelhead with a 4.2 pounder and Capt. Marty and Capt. John tied for the second place with 3.85 pounders each.
